Pop-in-Kins Spottings

He is one crazy elf!

Christmas Fun

I am so esscited (aka excited) for Christmas. At the 10 day mark I told Mommy and Daddy I couldn't wait any longer, but now that we are a little closer, I think I can make it. Plus, I've been having all kinds of holiday fun.

Mommy and I went to see the Nutcracker. I'm ready to be a ballerina. This is my post ballet pose.

After it was over, I told Mommy we had to go get a very special treat after the ballet (how could she not already know that). Lucky for us the Ritz Carlton chocolate shop was across the street. Mommy let me pick out whatever I wanted.

I chose the chocolate and boy was it yummy. In case you were wondering, I didn't eat the whole thing, I shared it with Daddy when I got home. While we were there I got to see a full-sized gingerbread house and some of the Nutcracker ballerinas. Here I am showing Mommy I already know how to stand on my tippy toes, see!

I'm also out of school for holiday break, but I think I'd rather be in school than at home. Before school ended my class put on a performance for our parents. I sang good! I like performing so much, that every night since I sit Mommy and Daddy down in the audience chairs in the dining room and I put on a different performance. Last night was rock n' roll singing night, but at the last minute I turned it into a dance show. I give out tickets and everything....

What would Christmas be without a gingerbread house. We all had gingerbread houses to make, but only me and Eli actually made one. Well, only I made one. He just stuck candy on it and ate it off. Not sure why he was allowed to eat his weight in candy that night, but I wasn't - totally not fair. But I'm waiting till the end of Christmas to eat mine anyway.

So that's what I'm up to. I better get back to my Christmas countdown, it's only 3 days away. It's been 3 days away for about a week now and Daddy keeps telling me my counting is wrong, but I don't believe him. I'd rather believe Christmas is only 3 days away. Hope you are being good, Santa is watching.

A Discussion About Me Growing Up and Moving Out

AB - When I grow up you can come see me every week.
Mommy - Will you be there to hang out with me?
AB- Maybe, but I'll leave the door unlocked for you.
Mommy - Can I have a key?
AB - I don't know.

Christmas Tea

Sunday Mommy and I got all dressed up and we went a formal Christmas tea. It was like a real tea party. From the carolers to the real tea cups with sugar cubes, this was my kind of fun.

I even brought Daddy home some DOTS to share, cause they're his favorite.

Christopher Pop-in-Kins

The elf is back and guess where I found him - on a shelf -in my Barbie car with Cinderella Barbie. I told mommy, I think he's in love with her because he has his arm around her. Good thing I wasn't interested in playing with either of those toys today. I think this elf might be mischievous....

Black Friday Sales

This ad changed life as I know it...

It was Thanksgiving Day and Mommy was just trying to read the paper after lunch. I grabbed the toy pages and that's how it all started. See the top toy, circled above? It's a Polly Pocket collection complete with a carrying case. It has 5 Polly Pockets, shoes, accessories and clothes. It's just what every 4 year old girl dreams of.

Now I will admit, I don't own a Polly Pocket, I've never asked for a Polly Pocket, not positive what a Polly Pocket even is, but I knew as soon as I saw them I had to have them.

So I asked Mommy if I could have it. She asked me why I needed anymore teeny tiny dolls with plastic clothes that are impossible to put on and take off. I told her I needed it. So she said maybe for Christmas. But I let her know she had to go buy it because the elves don't know how to make plastic toys. She put me down for a nap and told to see if I still wanted it when I got up. So I took my toy ad to bed and while I was there I pined over the Polly Pockets and found a few other things I wanted too.

When I got up I let her know I still wanted Polly Pocket. In fact, I let her and Daddy know about a hundred times over the next 24 hours. At one point I told her I couldn't make it till Christmas without the Polly Pockets. I even shed a few real tears because I thought I was going to have to wait for Christmas.

You guessed it, I eventually wore Mommy and Daddy down. Mommy asked if instead of the whole Polly Pocket collection, what if she got me just one Polly Pocket to hold me over.

I thought it over and weighed my options and figured it was best to have one than none at all...

I then let her know that she had to go to the store that sells the kids clothes and by the checkout she'd find the little Polly Pockets. AKA - Belk... I guess I have seen Polly Pockets once before....

So Mommy took Grandpa to the airport and I took a nap. I told Daddy that when she got home, to leave the Polly Pocket in the box because I wanted to see the box. It was a great day when I got up - meet my new friend Polly Pocket...

Now you are probably saying Mommy shouldn't have bought it for me, she should have made me wait, but let me tell you - I have the Best Mommy Ever and I told her so over and over last night... So I got my Polly Pocket and she got to hear music to her ears.  In fact, I've dropped the "BME" a few times today too. It was a win-win for both of us.

Since Polly's been here, I had to give her a shower last night because she was dirty from being in the store so long. She had to have her own plate of snacks while watching the Hokies last night. Today was her birthday (she's 3), complete with cookies for everyone. The best thing about Polly Pocket besides that she has roller skates, is that when her head pops off you can pop it right back on. Can't do that with my princesses.

I just hope the elves get to making more Polly Pockets because according to Mommy the store is all out of the Polly Pocket collection. There are some lucky girls somewhere.

Cleaning Up

Did you know that toys like to sneak under your bed? Daddy has great arms for getting all of the toys that hide behind and under my bed. So this morning that was our job. Not only did we find a library book that has been missing since August (and we now own), but Belle and Cinderella's Prince Charming have now been found.  The ball can go on now!

Once all of the dolls were retrieved, I decided I should organize everything by color. Check it out, it's a rainbow of princesses and fairies!

A Birthday Prince

While talking about Princess and The Frog today I told mommy, "I don't like frogs, just prince's".
She said sometimes you gotta kiss a frog to find a prince. I said "I'll never, ever kiss a frog". So she asked me how I was going to find a prince. I told her "Eli is my prince and Daddy too." Happy Birthday Daddy - here's a kiss from me to you!

Bedtime Wisdom

"When you have no comfy jammies on, you feel like a lion with no hair."

The Night I Became a Chopstick Graffiti Artist

One of my duties around the house is to set the table. Most nights mommy lets me know when dinner is close and then I know it’s time for me to set the table. A few nights ago, I decided to set the table without being asked. It’s the least I can do around the house, right? I even figured I’d be nice to my lil’ brother and instead of giving him a regular spoon, I gave him his new car spoon. While digging through the silverware drawer I came across my chopsticks and thought I’d use them for dinner, too. We were having soup, sounds like a good idea right?

Once the table was set, mommy served my soup. I greeted her with a smile and cheerfully chatted with her as she walked back into the kitchen to get the rest of my meal and drink. All the while I was busy…

Busy etching into the dining room table with my chopsticks.

Upon Mommy’s return with my glass of water, mommy greeted me with “what did you do to my table”. I was initially speechless.

Yes, I thought it would be ok with mommy and daddy if I carved art into their dining room table. Needless to say, I was wrong. Mommy has always said she picked this table so that in 50 years from now we can all sit around it and remember our fond memories of time spent there together. Well, I just gave us something to talk about in 2061.

While eating my dinner, I told mommy that I did it because “I was trying to make a mat and I didn’t have any paper”. I think she saw through my excuse. She calmly told me that she was going to spend dinner thinking about my punishment.

When daddy got home, I had to do the dreaded – tell him. When mommy said I had to show daddy what I did, I told her “I’m too tired to tell dad”. She made me do it anyway.

I guess she really did spend dinner thinking about my punishment because then she made me to go bed early. I told her I couldn’t go to bed because “I was still thinking about her privilege”. I think I meant her punishment… So I told her I was going to send her to her room for 80/20 days. She seemed to like that idea.

She marched me to my room, I tried to tell her she couldn’t come in my room, but she said something about how she owns my room and she would be coming in. I told her she didn’t own the room, that I did. But she seems to think I am just borrowing the room. I told her I wasn’t borrowing it that I own it, but she said that she and daddy bought this house and that means she owns my room and she can enter it whenever she wants. So I told her – “Houses don’t cost money, that’s what I learned”. So there, she didn’t buy my room after all.

While getting ready for bed, mommy started taking all the fun stuff out of my bed – Barbies, books, tinker fairies, animals, and more. I started to get it – I’m in TROUBLE. So I did what any rational 4 year old would do, I told her “I’m going to use my money and buy a cage and put you in it for 13 days.” Any idea where I can get a cage big enough for a mommy?

Violetisms on Halloween

While carving the pumpkin  - "My hands are so gutty"

Before Trick or Treating - "I hope I don't get any rocks like Charlie Brown"

While riding in the wagon on the way home from TorT - "It tickles my butt"

At home, looking at the candy loot - "I'm the goodest trick or treater"

When asked if Mommy and Daddy could have some candy - "You can pick out some candy you want. What's mine is yours"

When kissing little brother goodnight - "You are the sweetest little boy"

Violet is pretty Incredible!!!

Sick Day

I'm a lil' under the weather today, but don't feel bad for me, I've been treated like a queen. I've had endless stories read to me,had lots of cuddles, sipped on hot cocoa all day (it's the only thing that makes my throat feel better), watched some tv (had to watch Dumbo to feel better) and I've been waited on hand and foot. Now I just need someone to clear the table of all my tissues...

Check out my pumpkin patch fairy pictures I painted today! Thanks Poppa C, this was just what I needed to make me feel better after my movie.

I've put my order in for Princess soup and strawberry pudding for dinner, gonna milk this cold all night!

I'm Back

I know, it's been a while. See how much I've grown? This is my first day of preschool 2011.
