You are probably wondering why a colorful, creative person such as myself would have a plain white envelope on here. This envelope holds my ticket to kindergarten.
My parent's won't be getting Parent of the Year Awards this year. Here we are on the eve of my first day of kindergarten and I almost didn't get to go....Apparently, you have to have a completed physical form before they will let you enter school and my parents missed that information in the school letter. But, in the nick of time, 15 minutes before the doctor's office closed the day before I am supposed to report to my kindergarten post, we were able to get my kindergarten physical form - of course for a small fee. So tomorrow I start my educational journey.
You are probably asking, what am I doing this afternoon before such a big day. I have spent the day trying to help my Mommy spend so much money that when my first day of college comes, she won't think it's that expensive.
We started at having to go to lunch. Then we had to go to the craft store to get me some more canvases for my painting addiction. Then we were off to Target to get the last of my school supplies. She said she almost had to take out a small loan to pay for all the supplies you need in kindergarten. All we had left to get was special coloring pencils and regular pencils. Well after visiting 2 Targets and Walmart - we came up empty. So I guess I'll just have to use the other type coloring pencils I have to take or the 4 boxes of crayons I needed until we can secure the right supplies. I thought, Mommies were supposed to be so excited for kindergarten that they were much more prepared than mine seems to be. Well just one more reason Mommy won't be getting the POTYA.
Then the idea hit me, that you have to have a new outfit for the first day of school. So we had to buy one of those, too. I conned her into buying me a new coloring book as well. I think she's a softie today...
Well after going with Mommy to end up not getting the last of my school supplies, I've been playing with my new paperdolls of course.
I've even made special plastic bags with their names on them to keep them organized.
But rest assured, before I started playing, I got my homework done. Yes people, you have homework in kindergarten. It's not all ABC's and 123's. Here's my representation of my favorite part of the book Biscut Goes to School.
As I've told my Mommy a few times today when she's asked me a question, my sage wisdom for you folks out there, "I don't know, sometimes that's just the way life is..."
Wish me luck on my big day!
